Weerg has recently upgraded its machinery fleet with 12 new Bambu Lab H2D 3D printers, a flagship model in the additive manufacturing landscape. The Bambu Lab 3D printer represents a true revolution in FDM technology, standing out for its versatility, high printing speed, superior quality of produced components and intelligent material management. By adopting this innovative solution, Weerg has significantly expanded both its production capacity and its range of possible applications, guaranteeing exceptional results in terms of quality as well as operational efficiency.
The Bambu Lab H2D 3D printer is a state-of-the-art solution in additive manufacturing based on FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling), technology, designed as a genuine personal manufacturing hub. Among its main advantages:
Dual-extruder system with twin nozzles: capable of reaching extrusion temperatures up to 350 °C, allowing the use of a wide range of technical filaments, from common materials such as PLA and PETG to high-performance polymers such as polycarbonate and carbon fibre-reinforced nylon.
Efficient multi-material printing: thanks to the dual extruder, different materials can be combined in the same process or soluble/removable supports can be used, simplifying post-processing and broadening design possibilities.
Automatic nozzle calibration (Eddy Current): eliminates the manual procedures typical of traditional dual-extruder printers, ensuring micrometric alignment, error reduction, and reliable, straightforward bi-material printing.
Consistent quality and rapid turnaround: automation and precision enable Weerg to deliver prototypes and finished products to a consistently high standard, reducing risks and accelerating production.
Large build volume (350 × 320 × 325 mm): ideal for producing large parts in a single process, reducing geometric constraints and dimensional compromises while leaving full design freedom.
Enclosed, heated chamber up to 65 °C: ensures thermal stability and reduces issues such as deformation, warping, and layer detachment. The heated bed up to 120 °C improves layer adhesion, maximising the mechanical and structural properties of technical materials.
DynaSense servo-assisted extrusion system: based on a PMSM brushless motor, it ensures a precise, consistent material flow suitable even for the most complex applications.
Weerg primarily leverages the multi-material capability of the Bambu Lab H2D to improve support management. The second nozzle can deposit specific materials for easily removable supports. For example, water-soluble filament (PVA or BVOH) can be used for temporary supports, or breakaway materials such as HIPS that can be removed manually with ease. This process drastically reduces post-processing times while significantly improving the surface finish of printed components.
In addition, multi-material printing opens up innovative design opportunities, such as creating components made up of sections with different physical properties—for example, rigid parts with flexible inserts within the same object—making design and prototyping even more versatile and functional.
With Bambu Lab, Weerg also offers sophisticated multicolour printing, capable of automatically handling up to 4 different filaments per machine and printing objects with multiple colours integrated directly into the finished part, with no need for additional aesthetic finishing.
This multicolour capability also enables the creation of aesthetic models with integrated branding, consumer product prototypes, industrial components with embedded visual indicators, or even functional markings such as graduated scales or QR codes.
At Weerg we use the Bambu Lab H2D 3D printer to deliver a fast, precise printing service with no compromise on quality. Thanks to the optimised integration of the Bambu Lab H2D into our production workflows, we can fully exploit its extrusion capabilities up to 600 mm/s and toolhead movements up to 1000 mm/s, drastically reducing lead times.
This means Weerg can produce aesthetic and functional prototypes in record time while maintaining maximum precision. The structural rigidity and advanced technology of the H2D allow us to achieve complex components with a resolution down to 50 µm, always ensuring impeccable results.
Quality is our strength. With the Bambu Lab H2D, Weerg guarantees high standards even in extended and high-volume production. Each printer is equipped with an advanced artificial vision system, comprising 4 cameras and 36 intelligent sensors, which constantly monitor every stage of the printing process.
A dedicated macro camera on the nozzle provides detailed control of material deposition, enabling automatic corrections in case of anomalies. In addition, before each print, the system carries out a thorough pre-flight check, verifying the bed and hardware modules. In this way, Weerg minimises the risk of errors and delivers a safe, reliable production process.
One of the reasons why Weerg chose the Bambu Lab H2D 3D printer is its extraordinary versatility. Our Bambu Labs work with a wide range of materials: from flexible ones such as TPU, to technical polymers such as ABS, ASA, and polycarbonate, and even carbon fibre-reinforced composites.
Thanks to the integrated AMS 2 Pro system in the H2D, we can manage up to 4 spools per printer, kept in optimal conditions of controlled humidity. This is essential for hygroscopic materials such as nylon or PVA. Each spool is automatically recognised, simplifying material changes and ensuring maximum efficiency.
In advanced configuration, a Bambu Lab H2D can manage up to 25 different materials or colours, enabling multi-material and multicolour printing without waste or downtime. With the support of Bambu Studio software and optimised firmware, Weerg harnesses this technology to offer customers fast, reliable, and tailored solutions.
With the addition of 12 new Bambu Lab H2D 3D printers, Weerg has substantially renewed its machine fleet, consolidating its role as a benchmark in additive manufacturing. The Bambu Lab H2D is now one of the most advanced models in the FDM printing landscape: combining versatility, speed, component quality, and intelligent material management.
Thanks to this strategic choice, Weerg not only uses a state-of-the-art Bambu Lab 3D printer but integrates it into optimised production processes, expanding its operational capacity and the variety of possible applications. The result is a service that guarantees customers high-quality components, reduced lead times, and uncompromising efficiency, reaffirming the innovative approach that has always set Weerg apart.
