What file formats do you accept for laser cutting?
We accept three standard file formats: .DXF, .STP and .STEP.
.DXF (Drawing Exchange Format)
A widely used 2-D vector file in mechanical and architectural design. Thanks to its “open” structure, it preserves the precision of lines and curves and is fully compatible with leading CAD software – including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, DraftSight and many others. For optimal results, set the units to millimetres, remove any hatching or fills and include only the layers intended for cutting.
.STP / .STEP (ISO 10303)
The .STP and .STEP extensions denote the same neutral format for 3-D models. It is the reference standard for exchanging complex assemblies, as it maintains geometries, tolerances and relationships between components without introducing conversion errors.
