What is 3D printing?

3D printing is an additive manufacturing process by which objects are made by layer of material.

This innovative technology has revolutionized the world of manufacturing, offering new possibilities for the creation of complex objects, rapid prototyping and runs.

3D Printing with Weerg

Weerg exploits the power of the latest 3D printing technologies to guarantee high-quality printed parts with a wide range of materials.
Currently, enjoying our services, you can produce parts in HP MJF, FDM (filament) and Resin (MSLA with LSPC).
Our optimization of the printing processes allows you to obtain in a few days (from 3 working days) quantities of functional parts ranging from 1 single part to thousands at a low cost and with surprising quality.

How does 3D printing work?

3D printing starts with a digital model of the object you want to create.

This model is then "cut" into thin layers using a specialized software.

The 3D printer then builds the object layer by layer, depositing, sintering or catalysing the material precisely to form the final object.

The History of 3D Printing

3D printing originated in the 1980s with the invention of stereolithography by Chuck Hull, a technique that used UV lasers to solidify photopolymer resins layer by layer.

Initially used for rapid prototyping in industry, the technology grew to include various techniques such as Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) and Selective Laser Sintering (SLS).

Over the years, it has found different applications beyond prototyping, including medical implants, aerospace components and even consumer goods.

Advances in materials and the democratisation of technology through consumer-accessible printers have broadened its reach and accelerated innovation.
