Nylon 6 with added short carbon fibre combines the excellent properties of the base material, characterised by excellent ductility, resilience and abrasion resistance, with the special features of the filler. The carbon fibre makes the material even more performing both from a mechanical (yield stress 75 MPa) and thermal (150°C HDT) point of view. Nylon 6 is therefore a versatile polymer suitable for a wide range of applications, from conceptual prototypes to definitive components such as racking and line equipment.

PEEK has exceptional properties and the addition of short carbon fibre further improves its performance, making it one of the highest performing polymers available. Thermal resistance is greatly improved by reaching 315°C before deforming (HDT 0.8 MPa) and mechanical properties are similar to semi-crystalline PEEK but with more brittle and less ductile behaviour. The elastic modulus also increases, making the material less flexible. It resists when placed in hostile environments involving fuels, grease, chemicals, high humidity and intense vibration. Due to its outstanding performance combined with light weight, the material is widely used as a metal replacement in industry.
